Academy Voices is an audiobook publisher. Authors post their book free, real narrators audition, and we produce the audiobook and send it to nearly 50 stores, libraries and streaming services. Every audiobook is read by a real person.
We've published 823 audiobooks since 2023, voiced by 204 narrators.

Before voice over I spent 21 years in theatre, as a stage actor, a teacher, a director and an acting coach. I studied theatre and performance at Ferrum College and earned a graduate degree in Educational Leadership at Old Dominion University.
I booked my first audiobook in my first month as a voice actor. It was a sports training book about an hour and a half long, and it paid $50. After that it became an obsession to always have a book in the queue.
My first booth was PVC pipe and packing blankets next to the refrigerator. It went up and came down every night. For months I taught all day and narrated at night. Then I went full time.
Over the years I've delivered thousands of voice-over jobs for clients in more than 60 countries, and I started teaching other voice actors at VO Journey Academy. Academy Voices grew out of both: authors who wanted a real person to read their book, and narrators who wanted real books to read.

Fair to narrators
Narrators are paid per finished hour or share the royalties. They're performers, and we treat them that way.

Anthony Pica, founder. I approve every narrator and answer most of the email myself.
Gabby Nistico, casting. Gabby matches books with narrators and runs auditions.
Angela Ohlfest, publishing. Angela gets every finished audiobook ready and sends it out to the stores.
