Explore how Academy Voices works for storytellers at every stage, from production to promotion and beyond.

For authors & publishers

Your words, our voices. Let's turn your story into sound.

Academy Voices streamlines audiobook creation, providing the tools and support to help you transform your manuscript into a polished audio production for a global audience.

  1. 1

    Start with your story

Create a free account and submit your project: manuscript, an audition sample script, and your narration preferences and budget.

  2. 2

    Collaborate with your narrator

Receive custom auditions, choose per-finished-hour or royalty-share pricing, and give feedback throughout production.

  3. 3

    Publish

Distribute across major platforms, track sales through your dashboard, and receive royalty payments.

Pricing

Two ways to pay. You choose.

Either way, a one-time $350 production fee applies, due once your chosen narrator signs the contract.

Per finished hour

Pay your narrator a flat rate

A set rate for each finished hour of audio. You keep full publishing flexibility.

Estimated total

An estimate. Your narrator's actual rate and the book's final length set the real price.

Royalty share

Share the sales instead

No narrator fee up front. Every sale is split, paid quarterly, and the audiobook publishes through Academy Voices.

Questions from authors

Self-published authors typically hold their audiobook rights outright. If you're traditionally published, check your publishing agreement to confirm audio rights weren't assigned to your publisher.
Consistent levels, tone, and noise reduction throughout; 192 kbps or higher CBR MP3 files; chapters clearly labeled with separate opening/closing credit files.
Per Finished Hour (a flat rate per completed audio hour) or Royalty Share (a split of audiobook sales), both described above.
Through sales across our global platform network, with royalty payments made quarterly. Royalty Share projects split that income with your narrator.
Yes. An electronic contract is sent through the platform covering payment terms, royalty splits, timeline, and rights, signed before production begins.

Questions from narrators

Sign up and subscribe to join, then upload a headshot and at least one demo sample so authors can find and evaluate you.
Consistent levels, tone, and noise reduction throughout; 192 kbps or higher CBR MP3 files; chapters clearly labeled with separate opening/closing credit files.
Per Finished Hour or Royalty Share, both via PayPal. PFH is paid once the author has paid for the finished book and their payment has cleared, usually within 7 business days. Royalty Share is paid quarterly based on sales.
It depends on the store and how the book is sold. A library copy pays far more than a single stream. See what each kind of sale has actually earned on our catalog.
Membership is $9/month (or a discounted annual rate) for access to new project auditions. Royalty and earnings access on titles you've already worked on isn't affected by your membership status.
