Clare Winger Harris

Clare Winger Harris was an American science fiction writer whose short stories appeared in the 1920s. She is credited as the first woman to publish stories under her own name in science fiction magazines. She began in 1926, and most of her work ran in Amazing Stories. She published twelve stories in all, and her stories often feature strong female characters. A full collection, The Artificial Man and Other Stories, appeared in 2019.
