Cordwainer Smith

Cordwainer Smith was the pen name of Paul Myron Anthony Linebarger, an American author of science fiction. He was also an officer in the United States Army, a scholar of East Asia and an expert in psychological warfare. Despite a small body of work and an early death at fifty three, he is counted among the more influential science fiction writers. The Game of the Rat and the Dragon is one of his best known stories.
