About Cyrano de Bergerac

Savinien de Cyrano de Bergerac was a French novelist, playwright and duelist. He wrote imaginative tales of journeys to the moon and sun, published after his death, which are early works of science fiction. He is now best known as the inspiration for Edmond Rostand's 1897 play, which gives him a famous nose and a gift for poetry, though the play mixes fact with invention.
