About E. W. Hornung

E. W. Hornung was an English author and poet. After poor health sent him to Australia as a teenager, he drew on the experience for his early stories. In 1898 he introduced A. J. Raffles, a gentleman thief, and his friend Bunny Manders, who narrates the tales. He was the brother in law of Arthur Conan Doyle, and Raffles is often described as a counterpart to Sherlock Holmes. Dead Men Tell No Tales is another of his adventure novels.
