Edward Ormondroyd

Edward Ormondroyd was an American writer of children's books. He is best known for David and the Phoenix, a fantasy novel from 1957 about a boy who meets a bird from the legends of long ago. His time travel novel Time at the Top was filmed for television in 1999. Born in 1925, he wrote for young readers with warm humor and a light touch, and he lived to the age of ninety nine. Both books are still read aloud by families and in classrooms.
