About Guy Wetmore Carryl

Guy Wetmore Carryl was an American humorist and poet. He wrote light, witty verse and short stories, and he is best remembered for Fables for the Frivolous and for Grimm Tales Made Gay, in which he retold the old fairy tales with a modern wink. He died in 1904 at the age of thirty one, so his collected work is small, but his clever rhymes were widely admired in his day.
