Hugh Conway

Hugh Conway was the pen name of Frederick John Fargus, born in Bristol. He trained as an accountant and ran the family auctioneering business there. His novel Called Back, published in 1883, was a great success and was adapted for the stage. A second hit, Dark Days, followed, and he wrote several more books before he died in 1885 at the age of 37. Our Last Walk is one of his short stories.
