About Jack London

Jack London grew up poor in Oakland, California, and worked as a sailor and cannery hand before joining the Klondike Gold Rush in 1897. The Call of the Wild, published in 1903, drew on that winter in the Yukon and made him famous. He also wrote White Fang and The Sea-Wolf and was one of the highest-paid writers of his time.
