About Teddy Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th president of the United States, serving from 1901 to 1909. A sickly child with asthma, he built his strength through exercise, studied at Harvard and made his name as a writer with The Naval War of 1812. In 1898 he helped raise the volunteer cavalry regiment known as the Rough Riders and led it in Cuba, and his book of that name is his own account of the campaign. He also wrote about hunting, nature and politics.
