The Little Fir-Tree

From the pen of Carolyn Wells comes a luminous holiday fable about finding your place and purpose. When the great Tree-master fashions the forests and orchards, a modest little fir feels invisible beside the apple, peach, and cherry trees who parade their blossom-frocks and summer fruits. As seasons turn and the taunts grow sharper, the fir’s generous heart never hardens—until the Tree-master returns with a wondrous promise: in winter, when all others stand bare, she will bloom with radiance, bearing shimmering ornaments and bright “winter fruits,” and rise as the world’s first Christmas tree. Told in musical, storytime prose and brought to life by John Young’s warm narration, The Little Fir-Tree is a charming, family-friendly listen that celebrates humility, kindness, and hope. Perfect for cozy car rides, classroom story hours, and festive evenings by the fire, this timeless tale reminds listeners of every age that true beauty shines brightest when the world is coldest.
