About Beatrix Potter
Beatrix Potter was an English writer, illustrator and naturalist. The Tale of Peter Rabbit, first printed privately in 1901, began a series of 23 small books, each illustrated with her own watercolors. Later she bought Hill Top Farm in the Lake District, bred Herdwick sheep, and left more than 4,000 acres to the National Trust.
