About Rudyard Kipling
Rudyard Kipling was born in Bombay, India, and his childhood there shaped much of his work. He wrote The Jungle Book, Just So Stories, Kim and the poem "If—", and in 1907 became the first English-language writer to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. His animal stories, written to be read aloud, remain among the best-loved children's books in English.
