A Burnt Fork Santa Claus

A Burnt Fork Santa Claus is a snow-bright, heartwarming Christmas tale from homesteader-author Elinore Pruitt Stewart. When Elinore and her Wyoming neighbors, trudging the winter mountains, find a destitute family of wood-choppers marooned in an abandoned cabin, they become a collective Santa Claus—sharing precious stores, sewing warm clothes from scraps, and cutting a pine to kindle a lifesaving holiday for hungry children. Stewart’s keen eye for frontier detail—ice-bound creeks, creaking wagon gear, quilts and bacon saved for a single feast—renders the American West with uncommon tenderness and grit. What unfolds is not just a Christmas rescue, but a celebration of community, selflessness, and the quiet bravery required to start over on the edge of nowhere. Narrated with warmth and clarity by KT Huckabee, this short listen brims with humor, hope, and the glow of a lamp in a one-room cabin. Perfect for holiday family listening, fans of Western Americana, and anyone who believes that generosity can change the course of a winter’s night. If you love true-hearted seasonal classics and pioneer stories, A Burnt Fork Santa Claus will leave you smiling long after the last ember fades.
