About
About Edgar Allan Poe
Edgar Allan Poe was an American poet, critic and short-story writer. He is best known for "The Raven," "The Tell-Tale Heart" and "The Fall of the House of Usher," and his "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" is often called the first modern detective story. Poe died in Baltimore at 40, and his tales of dread and obsession shaped horror, mystery and science fiction ever since.
