About
About Andrew Lang
Andrew Lang was a Scottish poet, critic and folklorist. Between 1889 and 1910 he and his wife, Leonora Blanche Alleyne, edited twelve "colored" Fairy Books, from The Blue Fairy Book to The Lilac Fairy Book, gathering stories from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. The books brought hundreds of tales to English-speaking children for the first time and are still the source many retellings come from.
