About Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm

Jacob (1785–1863) and Wilhelm (1786–1859) Grimm were German scholars of language and folklore. Their collection Children's and Household Tales, first published in 1812 and revised for decades, gathered more than 200 stories told in German homes, including Cinderella, Rapunzel, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel and Little Red Riding Hood. Jacob also laid the foundations of the study of the German language.
